Oman's first net-zero community, a one-million-square-metre beachfront development by Diamond Developers and OMRAN, targeting net-zero carbon by 2040.
The Sustainable City Yiti is a development of close to one billion US dollars by Diamond Developers with Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN), spanning nearly one million square metres of the Gulf of Oman coastline.
It is designed as the largest sustainable community in the region and Oman's first net-zero emission community, targeting net-zero carbon by 2040 in line with Oman Vision 2040. The design rests on six pillars (food, energy, water, products, mobility and waste) delivered through energy-efficient architecture, solar power, recycled water, local food production including vertical farming, and electric-vehicle infrastructure.
The community will hold 1,657 homes, among them 300 eco-friendly villas, alongside two hotels, a school, a nursery, an equestrian centre, an indoor sports complex and outdoor leisure areas.
